Panel Discussion - Benefits and Risks of Legal Clinics
13. decembra 2016 (utorok) od 13.00 hod. v Súdnej sieni, Právnická fakulta UK, Šafárikovo nám. 6, Bratislava

The aim of the discussion is to present and facilitate the exchange of experience with clinical legal education in Slovakia and abroad. Participants of the discussion are expected to highlight the benefits and risks inherent to these forms of education. Foreign participants will furthermore present the model of clinical legal education at their respective universities and potentially propose solutions to specific problems that arose in the day-to-day operation of their clinics. Since members of the Slovak Bar Association will also be present at the discussion, we would welcome if foreign participants could also explain in some detail the working relationship between the clinics and local bar associations in their jurisdictions. Clinical legal education is relatively novel within the system of Slovak legal education and our general objective is therefore to stimulate an open discussion about the necessity of clinics, advantages the clinics offer to students and how clinical courses help the students in their future legal practice.
