Incoming students
Nominations
Check whether your university has an Inter-institutional agreement (IIA) with your chosen faculty of Comenius University. Partner institutions of your university should be published at the website of your university; or ask the mobility administrator at your home university.
Ask your outgoing mobility administrator to nominate you for studies at Comenius University. Nominations to Comenius University are possible twice a year:
- 1 April – 15 May (for the following winter term & full academic year); deadline for uploading documents into Mobility Online: 15 June
- 1 October – 15 November (for the following summer term); deadline for uploading documents into Mobility Online: 15 December
Note: Erasmus partners of Comenius University receive a link for nomination shortly before the nominations open. Nominations must be done via Mobility Online system, email nominations are not accepted. If your mobility administrator does not have the link for nomination on 1 April / 1 October respectively, let them contact Comenius University right away at erasmusplusrec.uniba.sk .
Once nominated, you will receive an email with further step-by-step instructions. You need to register into Mobility Online system (registration credentials included in the email) and fill in your profile. At first you will be asked to upload your CV, scan of passport OR ID card and your photo. Only then will you reive a Confirmation of Acceptance.

Acceptance/Learning agreement
When you are accepted, you can start choosing courses for your Learning Agreement (LA) or Online Learning Agreement (OLA). See the list of offered courses. Should you have any questions concerning the LA, contact the mobility administrator at your host faculty. Deadline for completion of your LA / OLA is 15 June (winter term / full year) / 15 December (summer term).
Accommodation
Availability of university dormitories depends on the current pandemic situation. Dormitories may not be available for exchange students – you will be informed about the current situation in one of the emails you receive. Students who need visa can apply for dormitories under any circumstances, since they need confirmation of accommodation in order to get the visa. Under normal circumstances, you can apply to Družba(students of Law, Natural Sciences and Medicine), Mlyny (other faculties located in Bratislava) and dormitories of Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin.
Slovak language courses
Slovak language courses are available for all incoming students. You will be informed about the deadline for registration in advance. These courses are not mandatory. You can choose Survival Slovak during the Welcome Week and/or Slovak for beginners during the semester.
Erasmus Student Network (ESN)
Erasmus Student Network Slovakia (ESN Slovakia) is a non-profit student organisation. Mission is to represent international students, thus provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students. Every year, 10 ESN sections from Bratislava to Košice take care of almost 2,000 Erasmus students. ESN SK represents international students and organize trips, cultural and social activities and events for them.

Foreign police
Foreign Police. If you are staying in Slovakia for more than 90 days, you need to issue a temporary resience permit. More information can be found here.
