Entitled “Experience the Magic of Slovak Folk Easter”, the workshops gave participants a chance to gain a closer understanding of Slovak Easter traditions while also trying out various Easter egg decorating techniques for themselves. The programme was designed as an immersive introduction to festive customs and their place in Slovak culture.

The workshops brought together students of various nationalities not only from Europe, but also from other continents. The event created space for intercultural exchange, offering participants an opportunity to share experiences and perspectives on traditional holidays while also getting to know one another in an international setting. Conceived as a form of informal learning, the activities were met with a positive response from those who took part.

The workshops were organised by the International Relations Office of the CU Rectorate in cooperation with the CU Welcome Centre and EURAXESS Slovakia. The activities were led by instructors from Comenius University Bratislava, who guided participants through the individual techniques and introduced the cultural background of Slovak Easter traditions.

The event formed part of the “Activities to connect” programme, which the university runs throughout the semester to support the integration of international students while also creating opportunities for domestic students to get involved. The programme includes a wide range of activities aimed at strengthening community life, such as yoga classes, guided painting sessions and introductory drawing classes.
