Solidarity concert of Jordi Savall
October 30, 2022 at 6 p. m., Moyzesova Hall, Faculty of Arts CU
Jordi Savall, with the support of Pezinok City Council, will offer two solidarity concerts. The second concert will take place on Sunday 30th October at the Moyzesova Hall at the Faculty of Philosophy in Bratislava University and it´s organized with the support of the Pezinok City Council and Bratislava University and it is offered to the Ukrainian community in Bratislava, with the collaboration of Andrii Sukhanov, Art director of the classical dance of the Košice State Theatre.
These two concerts are performed by 14 musicians members from Maestro Savall’s orchestra Le Concert des Nations. Some of them have been auditioned and selected this year to participate in the YOCPA professional academies, as part of the Young Orchestra and Choir Professional Academy (YOCPA Project); and some others are young professional musicians that have worked with Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations in previous projects.
The YOCPA project aims to recover and celebrate the European musical heritage by training new generations of musicians and supporting them to reach the professional concert scene in Europe. The project combines the pedagogical work of professional experts with the learning experience of emerging musicians through academies that take place face to face and online. In addition, these academies involve the opportunity to perform with Le Concert des Nations in different European cities.
Apart from the learning experience that means performing in consolidated music halls and festivals, the project has the purpose of bringing music to different groups and communities in Europe that face a challenge in accessing arts and culture. The title of these concerts is “Le Goût Réunis (1670-1780)” with masterpieces from the Barroque period like the suite of Le bourgeois gentilhomme by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Battalia by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, The Fairy Qeen by Henry Purcell, Concerto IV in Re Maggiore by Angelo Corelli, Música sinfónica los ministriles by Antonio Rodríguez de Hita and La musica notturna di Madrid by Luigi Boccherini.
