In according with the regular academic year schedule summer semester tuition begins on 15 February 2021. This year it will take place remotely (online). In order to maintain the quality of study and the value of education that CU offers its students, and in accordance with the recommendations of CU’s Crisis Staff and the CU Permanent Crisis Staff, the University’s Rector Marek Števček decided to offer exemptions to students of selected study programmes and study years. These exceptions will be proposed by faculty deans.

Depending on the epidemiological situation the CU Rector may approve a faculty dean’s request for exception, which would apply to final year students and those whose study programmes require personal attendance at labs or practical exercises (particularly students of medicine). Please follow the information published by your faculty to find out if an exception applies to you.

The rules of entry in university premises and participation in on-site tuition will be published by the university in the coming weeks. The university is also developing an option to administer COVID-19 tests in its dormitories. The Rector and the Crisis Staff of Comenius University instructed the Permanent Crisis Staff of Comenius University to ensure the testing of CU employees in cooperation with faculties and other units of the University.

Dormitories continue to operate in a restricted mode. The students who receive an exception to follow on-site tuition will be contacted by the University with an offer of accommodation at their dormitory.

Guests who signed the accommodation contract amendment and are not using their dorm accommodation will continue to be exempted from rent payments and will not be able to return to the dormitory. The university will agree to terminate accommodation contracts if requested by dorm guests once the restriction of movement and curfew mandated by the Slovak government are lifted.
