Lecture by Pulitzer Prize winner Matt Apuzzo

Matt Apuzzo, an American journalist and three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, will deliver a lecture at Comenius University on the threats faced by the free media. The lecture is entitled Through Real Threats to Real News and will also with why it is risky for politicians to turn against journalists. The previous day, on 25 October, he is going to run the workshop for students of The Department of Journalism.
Even the New York Times correspondent Matt Apuzzo himself had his phone data confiscated by the US government. At his lecture in Bratislava, he will talk about the menace to the freedom of the media and the risk which meddling in the work of the media poses to journalism and democracy itself. Apuzzo is an investigative reporter stationed in Brussels and has received Pulitzer Prizes for Investigative Reporting, National Reporting and for Public Service.
Due to the current pandemic situation, only vaccinated guests can participate in the lecture. Registration is mandatory and will begin on 5 October.
The lecture will be streamed live. Interpretation into Slovak will be provided.
