Comenius University is One of the Best Universities in the Region

Since 2015, the QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia University Rankings (QS EECA) have regularly evaluated 300 selected universities from 24 European and Central Asian countries which are “emerging market economies”. Comenius University in Bratislava once again confirmed its place among the best universities. This ranking is put together by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, which is a British company.

According to the current ranking, Comenius University is in 45th place in the region and is the best placed Slovak university. The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava was placed 58th, The Technical University of Košice was 100th, the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was 134th, Žilina University was in the 151st to 160th place band, and the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra was in the 161st to 170th place band.

The universities are assessed upon the basis of the following criteria: international academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (30%), faculty/student ratio (10%), international research network (10 %), web impact (5%), citations (5 %), number of academic staff with a Ph.D. as a proportion of all teaching and research staff (5 %), proportion of international students (2.5%), and proportion of international research staff (2.5 %).
