The “November ’89 – 30 Years After” Conference
14 to 15 November 2019 (Thursday and Friday) from 9:30 am, CU Auditorium, 6 Šafárik Square, Bratislava
This international conference is being organized by the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and Comenius University, and is being held with the support of the President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Čaputová. The conference will present the latest research on November 1989 by Slovak and international experts. Timothy Garton Ash from the University of Oxford and James Krapfl from McGill University will be the keynote speakers. The main objective of the conference is to provide space for experts from the humanities and social sciences to launch an international, interdisciplinary, and intergenerational discussion on the "Velvet Revolution" and its causes, the series of events, and the revolution’s outcomes.
