Semester long stays for students of full-time study are possible at:

• Slippery Rock University, Pennsylvania

The choice of stay in a given academic year depends on the state of exchanges between Comenius University and the chosen university. There are discussions with foreign partner universities every year ad hoc (since Comenius University traditionally accepts fewer student than it sends out).

ELIGIBILITY

The offer is available for all second-year students of all faculties.

Comenius University students can study at these faculties at Slippery Rock University:

College of Health, Environment, and Science
College of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts
College of Education

EXPENSES

Study fees are not paid for by Comenius University.

Health insurance, textbooks and study materials, as well as personal expenses will be paid by the students themselves.

The accepting university offers free accommodation and meals. One semester will cost the student several thousand Euro. There are no additional scholarships that are available to fund this exchange – since this is not part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme.

The International Relations Office will contribute to the travel expenses and successful applicants will be informed of all details.

APPLICATION FORM should be submitted to the International Relations Office, Rectorate, to the email address iro@rec.uniba.sk (in the form of a word or .pdf document).

• Study application for (one) chosen university, in Slovak
• CV in English, in which the applicant must include any previous participation in foreign exchanges related to their study
• Motivational letter, in English
• Letter of recommendation, in English, from the head of their department, their teacher, or their bachelor’s thesis supervisor
• Certificate of passing an English language test – TOEFL, IELTS. It is necessary to have the certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, …) in order to be accepted by the foreign university. (If you recently completed an English language test, or if you have arranged to take one in the following weeks, the certificate can be added until the 15 March 2025)

ACCEPTANCE

Successful applicants will be sent an acceptance letter from the foreign school, with which the applicant can obtain a visa. The student will take care of and pay for the visa themselves.

STUDY OBLIGATIONS

Study requisites, i.e. the agreement with the student’s faculty about recognizing a part or the whole study at the foreign university, are fully the obligation of the student and the faculty which they study at.

Students are sent out for their semester stay during the Winter semester. There is no option to prolong the stay at the foreign university.

REPORT OF STAY

After returning from the study exchange, the student is required to submit a report of stay to the International Relations Office within 30 days, in which the student will also evaluate the social aspects of their stay.

MAUI (Mid America Universities International) is a consortium of American universities, which enable student mobility with member universities of the Utrecht Network. Stays are possible at these American universities:

ELIGIBILTY
The offer of the semester stay is available to all full-time 2.-5. year students of all faculties at Comenius University. However, some universities only accept students of the bachelor programme. The choice of stay in a given academic year depends on the state of exchanges between the Utrecht Network and MAUI.

EXPENSES

Study fees are not paid for by Comenius University.

Health insurance, textbooks and study materials, as well as personal expenses will be paid by the students themselves.

One semester will cost the student several thousand Euro. There are no additional scholarships that are available to fund this exchange – since this is not part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme.

The International Relations Office will contribute to the plane ticket and successful applicants will be informed of all details.

• Motivational letter, in English
• Letter of recommendation, in English, from the head of their department, their teacher, or their bachelor’s thesis supervisor
• Certificate of passing an English language test – TOEFL, IELTS. It is necessary to have the certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, …) in order to be accepted by the foreign university. (If you recently completed an English language test, or if you have arranged to take one in the following weeks, the certificate can be added until the 15 March 2025)
• Separate sheet with the student’s 3 preferred universities which they would like to study at (write the most preferred university as 1., etc.)

ACCEPTANCE
Acceptance is decided solely by the foreign school. Successful applicants will be sent a printed official application form and an acceptance letter from the foreign school, with which the applicant can obtain a visa. The student will take care of and pay for the visa themselves.
 
STUDY OBLIGATIONS

Study requisites, i.e. the agreement with the faculty about recognizing a part or the whole study at the foreign university, are fully the obligation of the student and the faculty which they study at.

Students are sent out for one semester.
