Comenius University is third best in the Czech and Slovak republics and in four best of V4 Region according to the Moscow Ranking
Bratislava, 6 October 2021: Comenius University Bratislava ranked 272nd in the latest edition of The Three University Missions Ranking. This result places it high within V4 Region: only two Czech universities and one university from Poland ranked higher.
Three other Slovak universities made it to the top 1000 universities – the P. J. Šafárik University in Košice (651–700th band), Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (701st – 800th band) and Technical University in Košice (901– 1000th band). The University of Žilina and Trnava University both ranked lower.
In the ‘Moscow Ranking’ the largest Slovak university came close to Charles University in Prague, which placed 150th, and ranked higher than Masaryk University in Brno, which ended in the 301st – 350th place band. Warsaw University in place 119 and Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) in place 269 are the only other universities from a V4 country with a better ranking.
"Success in the rankings alone has never been the primary goal for us. Nevertheless, I was very pleased by this appreciation of our work. It is a great honour for us to be one of the top three universities in Czech and Slovak republics together with Charles University and CTU, and in the best four in V4 region, together with the University of Warsaw. We strive to improve and it is great that our efforts are noticed by the outside world," says Comenius University Rector Marek Števček.
The 2021 Three University Missions ranking evaluated 1,650 higher education institutions from 97 countries and territories short-listed from more than 2,000 institutions from 119 countries.
