Young innovators will present projects which push the boundaries of knowledge
Bratislava, September 29, 2020: Falling Walls Lab Slovakia, a worldwide event offering space to exceptional projects from various scientific fields will take place on October 1, 2020 in online form. It is organized for the third year jointly by the Comenius University, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Learned Society of Slovakia. Its partners in academia include the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Slovak University of Technology, the Pavel Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, the Technical University in Košice, the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, the University of Žilina and the Technical University in Zvolen. Eight finalists take part in the Slovak round.
Young innovators from Slovak universities and enterprises will present their projects in the fields of medicine, chemistry, veterinary medicine, technical engineering, mathematics, architecture and information technology. All innovative ideas and research projects will be presented to a professional jury by their authors in a three-minute format and using three images.
The winner of the Slovak finals will win a position in the international finals titled "Emerging Talents," a new digital format of "The Falling Walls Breakthroughs of the Year." Over the course of a few weeks, the innovators will present cutting-edge, innovative ideas and projects from around the world. Some will be shortlisted for the international finals with a chance to win the title "FW Breakthrough of the Year." The winner of the title will be announced at an online ceremony on November 9, 2020, with the participation of top scientists and innovators.
