THE DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF MATHEMATICS, PHYSICS AND INFORMATICS WILL BE PROFESSOR ŠEVČOVIČ
On 3 December 2018, the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics at Comenius University elected Professor Daniel Ševčovič to the position of faculty dean.
Professor Daniel Ševčovič has worked at the faculty since 1992. In 2001 he became an associate professor and in 2011 a full professor in his field. He is the guarantor and one of the founders of the financial and economic mathematics modelling study programme, which is considered to be one of the most successful programmes at the faculty. Since 2015 he has been the head of the faculty’s Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and he currently is the chairman of the Comenius University Academic Senate. He is also the vice-chairman of the Slovak Mathematical Society. He will be formally appointed to the position by the Comenius University Rector.
Professor Ševčovič will assume duties as faculty dean on 1 February 2019 for a period lasting until 31 January 2023.
