The Comenius University Rector welcomes the Greek Ambassador

On Monday 22 May 2017, the Comenius University Rector, Professor Karol Mičieta, welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Slovakia, Maria Louisa Marinakis, to the university.

The ambassador and the rector discussed the tuition of Greek at the Department of Classical and Semitic Philology at the Faculty of Arts; Greek students studying at Comenius University; exchanges of students, scientists, and teachers; bilateral cooperation between Comenius University and and partner univerisities in Athens and Thessaloniki; and the possibilities of further cooperation with European Union research projects.

The amabassor informed the rector about Professor Vassilis Rothos from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, who will work at Comenius University’s Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics in the upcoming academic year as part of a mutual exchange of reserachers and teachers. She also mentioned the potential of that faculty cooperating with the University of Patras in the area of informatics.
