THE VISIT OF THE GEORGIAN AMBASSADOR TO COMENIUS UNIVERSITY
On 20 March 2017, Comenius University Rector, Professor Karol Mičieta, welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Slovakia, Revaz Gachechiladze, who previously taught political geography at the University of Oxford and who is currently a professor at Tbilisi State University.
Ambassador Gachechiladze acquainted the Comenius University Rector, Professor Mičieta, with Georgia’s engagement with the European Higher Education Area as a part of the Bologna Process and proposed a memorandum on cooperation between Comenius University and Tbilisi State University. He mentioned the upcoming visit of the Georgian President, Giorgi Margvelashvili, and the possibility of him giving a lecture to students of history, political science, sociology, and cultural studies at Comenius University.
Professor Mičieta told the ambassador about the form of cooperation currently underway between Comenius University’s Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences and Tbilisi State University as well as the possibility of cooperating with Comenius University’s Faculty of Arts, be that in the areas of history, language programmes or archaeology, and in such forms as exchange programmes of students, researchers, and teachers.
