The Matriculation of International Students at Comenius University

At 10 am on Monday 12 February 2018, the ceremonial matriculation of international students took place in the Comenius University Auditorium Maximum. The matriculation featured an opening speech by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Professor Daniela Ostatníková.

The summer semester of the 2017/2018 academic year will see 115 students from many different countries come to Comenius University as a part of the Erasmus+ programme. The largest number of students are from Portugal (16), followed by Turkey (15) and France (12).

The Faculty of Management is welcoming 55 international students, the Faculty of Arts will welcome 18 students, and the Faculty of Law will welcome 12 students.

The students were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Professor Daniela Ostatníková, who emphasized the importance of John Amos Comenius in the Slovak context. “Every year more and more students from abroad come to study at Comenius University, and it will be an honour for me for your studies here to be completed successfully. You are the ones who contribute to the fact that 25% of international students choose to study at Comenius University,” she said in her address.
