Science and Technology Week in Slovakia with Comenius University

The 15th year of Science and Technology Week in Slovakia (5 to 11 November 2018), organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic alongside the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information’s National Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Technology in Society will once again see Comenius University in Bratislava participate with its own events. All around Slovakia, there will be public awareness events such as public lectures, festivals, workshops, and various competitions with a scientific and technological focus. The slogan for 2018 is “15 Years of Encountering Science: Discover with Us!”


Organized events:

Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin                                                     

With the active involvement of BioMed’s Division of Oncology, Division of Molecular Medicine, Institute of Physiology, and Simulation Centre, there will be an Open Day at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin  on 8 November 2018 from 9 am. 

Faculty of Pharmacy                                                                             

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Slovak Pharmacological Society of the Slovak Medical Association are organizing a Professors František and Pavel Švec Memorial event entitled Young Pharmacologists’ Day on 8 November 2018 from 8:30 am.  

The University Pharmacy organizes an information seminar for the public entitled Pharmacy for Everyone on 14 November at 16 pm

Faculty of Natural Sciences                                                                   

There will be a seminar for high school students entitled The Penetration of Dangerous Substances into our Environment on 5 November 2018 at 9 am.

Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics                               

There will be lectures, games, and excursions over four Open Days at the faculty during its Science Week from 6 to 9 November 2018 from 8 am. 

Faculty of Law                                                                       

There will be a lecture presenting the capabilities of artificial intelligence entitled Will Artificial Intelligence Replace Lawyers? on 6 November 2018 at 2 pm.

Faculty of Arts

There will be a Seminar on Research Activities of the Ethnology Section on 7 november from 9 am.
