THREE COMENIUS UNIVERSITY PERSONALITIES WERE AWARDED BY BSK, INCLUDING THE RECTOR

On January 23, 2019, an event was held in the Arena Theatre, where the Bratislava Self-Governing Region (BSK) awarded eighteen important personalities who contributed to the development of science, culture, history, and sports in Slovakia. Three of the awardees work or worked at Comenius University (CU) in Bratislava.

Out of the thirty-five nominees, the Bratislava Self-Governing Region awarded eighteen personalities who significantly contributed to the development of the Bratislava region and its society. The Samuel Zoch Annual Award was awarded to nine nominees, two of whom are employed by Comenius University.

The Comenius University Rector, Professor Karol Mičieta, and literary scholar, Professor Ondrej Sliacky from the Faculty of Education at CU, received the Samuel Zoch Award.

The Associate Professor Ivan Haverlík, the founder of the Department of Theoretical Cybernetics, who also participated in the establishment of the Department of Biophysics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Comenius University was among the seven recipients of the Commemorative Certificate of the President of the Bratislava Self-Governing Region.
