Campaign #EUInvestInKnowledge

The CU joins the #EUInvestInKnowledge campaign. 15 university asssociations appeal to politicians to invest into research, innovations and education with the aim to create a sustainable long-term restoration of economics.

A common declaration of 15 university associations representing more than 800 universities reiterate that for handling the current crisis caused by COVID-19 Europe needs a strong, common knowledge and skill base. This cannot be achieved without investitions into research, innovations and education. The declaration states that the current call in Horizon Europe programme does not amount to 120 billion euro, which is a sum the EU Parliament and universities considered necessary even before the crisis. The declaration also reminds that cutting resources in fudamental tools such as Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, European Research Council grants or Erasmus+ programme could slow down the efforts even more.
