The ninth Bratislava Summer University for Senior Citizens is happening soon
Bratislava, 25 July 2019: In association with the Centre for Continuing Education at Comenius University, the ninth year of the Summer University for Senior Citizens will soon take place. The aim of this educational project is to provide participants with knowledge in the form of lectures given by renowned experts in their fields.
The summer university for senior citizens will take place from 30 July to 8 August 2019 in the Hall of Mirrors at the Primate’s Palace with a regular starting time of 10 am. This project is entirely financially supported by the city of Bratislava, which will offer this experience to 160 senior citizens for free.
On 30 July 2019 at 10 am there will be a celebratory opening of the summer university featuring Comenius University’s vice-rector for education, Zuzany Kovačičová, and Lucia Štasselová, who is representing the mayor of Bratislava.
“We are very pleased about the great interest from active senior citizens and that every year every place in the Hall of Mirrors is taken up. We are confident that this year’s summer university will be no different and that participants will appreciate the the range of lectures,” said the director of the Centre for Continuing Education, Tatiana Ilavská.
This year the following lectures have been prepared:

Topic: Plant-based Medicines and Dietary Supplements

3. A lecture on 6 August 2019 from 10 am to 12 pm
Topic: Criminality and Justice in Medieval Bratislava
Lecturer: Associate Professor Vladimír Segeš
4. A lecture on 8 August 2019 from 10 am to 12 pm
Topic: Opera in Bratislava
Lecturer: Tomáš Surý
