Three New Professors Appointed at Comenius University

On 22 April, 2021 the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová appointed 27 new Professors. Three of them are from Comenius University Bratislava.

In her address the President encouraged the new professors and mentioned society's support for the effort of academic environment to make sure that our most successful projects were no longer just the result of individual excellence, but a consequence of a well-structured system.

If Slovakia wants to be a prosperous country, education and science must play a key role, according to the President: "This is what we observed with renewed vigour during the pandemic. The society’s appreciation of the fact that investing in education and science is not a waste of resources has never been stronger than now."

The newly appointed professors of Comenius University Bratislava are:

doc. Mgr. Iveta Herichová, PhD., Department of Animal Physiology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University,
doc. Mgr. Martin Sabol, PhD., Department of Geology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University,
doc. MUDr. Jozef Záhumenský, PhD., Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University.
