Prof. Ján Klimas to be the new Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy

On 2 December, 2020 election of the Dean took place at the Faculty of Pharmacy of CU. The candidates included the currently serving dean, Pavel Mučaji, and Ján Klimas, who was elected by a majority of the Faculty's Academic Senate members. Ján Klimas will serve a term of office starting on 1 March, 2021 and ending on 28 February, 2025. The election will be formally confirmed when the Rector of Comenius University Marek Števček appoints the new Dean.

Prof. PharmDr. Ján Klimas, PhD., MPH, studied pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Comenius University, where he also completed his PhD studies in pharmacology (1999 - 2006). He habilitated at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin in 2010 and became a professor in 2017.

He works at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Faculty of Pharmacy and he has been its head since 2015. Between 2009 and 2017 he held the position of vice-dean for educational activities and PhD studies.
