ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference 2024 - Call for proposals

The fourth ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference will take place at the University of Tartu from 7 to 9 October 2024. The conference theme is Innovation and Creativity in Higher Education.

ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Award 2024 recognises a course, which has implemented innovative international pedagogical approaches and/or learning practices related to the educational aims of ENLIGHT. The goal of the award is to spread the best teaching practices within the ENLIGHT network as well as to show sincere gratitude for those putting extra effort into the education they provide.

The course nominated on behalf of the Comenius University will receive a financial reward. The amount of the financial rewarddepends the size of the team. If the team consists of one member, the team will receive €500, a team consisting of two members will receive a €600, and a team consisting of 3 or more members will receive a reward in the amount of €750. The first three laureates from the CU will have opportunity to attend the conference in Tartu. Costs will be covered by ENLIGHT Office at CU. 

In keeping with the theme of the 2024 Teaching & Learning Conference “Innovation and Creativity in Higher Education”, we are looking for courses or programmes that apply the following criteria in their design and execution:

1. Developing ENLIGHT competences that support innovation and creativity

2. Replicability in the ENLIGHT community

3. Reflection on learning and teaching is embedded in the learning process

4. Innovative approaches to student involvement

Application for Teaching and Learning Award

Each nominee must submit an application containing a cover sheet and a portfolio.

The cover sheet (1 page) must include the following information:

• course title
• course summary (200 words)
• profile of all educators involved.
The application should clearly indicate the team leader or contact person and provide their contact details.

The portfolio (2–4 pages)

The portfolio should describe the course or programme in detail and provide evidence as to how the course meets the award criteria. All claims made in the portfolio need to be substantiated with evidence such as:
• examples given within the description
• reference/hyperlink to resources: documentation demonstrating course development, implementation, and outcomes, etc.
Documentation may include assessment data, peer feedback, summary of student feedback, web address and screenshots, sample course pages, video, or other evidence of quality.

The course, which will be nominated for the ENLIGHT award for the Comenius University in Bratislava, will be selected by an expert jury.
