ENLIGHT Rise

Research and Innovation agenda with and for Society: Using digital innovation for a greener and healthier Europe

ENLIGHT Rise is an element of ENLIGHT, an Alliance of European Universities of which Comenius University has been a part since 2020. This university network was set up to promote equitable quality of life, sustainability and global engagement through higher education transformation. ENLIGHT focuses on five flagship areas: Health and well-being, climate change, energy and circular economy, digital revolution and equity. It is a three-year project planned to launch on 1 September, 2021.

ENLIGHT Rise intends to add the element of research and innovation to the primary educational ambition of ENLIGHT. Its aim is to develop research and innovation in cooperation with local authorities and the private sector, and to promote a greener, healthier, more equitable and sustainable Europe. The program will support the development of common strategies and the formulation of visions, as well as focused action plans, to incentivise research and development. The objective is to become more competitive and innovative together, leveraging and synergizing the respective strengths of the ENLIGHT universities and their partners, and to make the most of the common innovation potential and partnerships with surrounding ecosystems. The project has the ambition to contribute to the sustainability of cities, communities and their surroundings.
