This year’s Bratislava Summer University for Seniors is composed of four lectures. The first lecture was given on 2 August by Dr Tamara Reháčková, who informed students about Bratislava’s parks and gardens throughout history and in the present day. The second lecture will be given by Tomáš Földes on 4 August and focuses on dishonest practices in the provision of goods and services. Dr Tomáš Surý will then discuss Baroque votive sculpture in Bratislava (9 August). The summer university will finish with a lecture by Ida Rapaičová on developmental forms of Slovak (11 August).

The summer university has always been very popular among senior citizens; this year was no exception, with the Hall of Mirrors at the Primate’s Palace in Bratislava’s city centre being filled to capacity. This project is financed by the City of Bratislava and once again is being offered to senior citizens free of charge.
