Our online workshop will focus on the STAIRCASE Survey and how it can be used in interactive activities aimed at enhancing research culture by addressing the mental health challenges faced by researchers. Participants will be introduced to the survey and engage in self-reflection exercises to assess their own experiences. The session will then culminate in a group discussion aimed at identifying common issues and developing local actions to foster a supportive and sustainable academic environment." The Workshop is scheduled for July 17th at 15:00 CET.

Bio of the workshop facilitators: Simone Lackner, Ph.D.: Simone is a multidisciplinary scientist with a degree in Molecular Biology, a Ph.D. in Systems Neuroscience, postdoctoral training in Complexity and Computational Social Science. She has worked in eleven different institutes in Austria, Singapore, USA, Japan and Portugal. CU HAS IMPROVED ITS POSITION AMONG THE TOP 300 EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES

The best universities in Europe are ETH Zurich, Imperial College London and the University of Oxford. In addition to CU nine Slovak universities were ranked - Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (387th place), Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra (396th place), Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (408th place), Technical University in Košice (432nd place). place), University of Žilina (460th place), Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica and University of Prešov (shared 551st - 600th place). The last two are the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra and the University of Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (601 + place). QS World University Rankings: Europe 2025 ranks universities according to twelve categories with different weights, such as academic reputation (30%), reputation among employers (15%), international research network (10%), sustainability (5%) and others. QS World University Rankings: Europe is a new ranking and has been evaluating European universities since 2023. This year, on 10 July, 2024, the ranking published a list of the top 685 higher education institutions from 42 locations in Europe. *** Comenius University is the only Slovak university which regularly appears in all prominent rankings. It reached 661st-670th place in the 2025 QS World University Ranking. It ranks 514th in the 2024 Round University Ranking. CU is ranked 716th in the CWUR (Center for World University Rankings), making it one of the top 3.5% schools in the world. ARWU ranking (Shanghai ranking) puts it in the 901st-1000th place band. The prestigious Best Global Universities ranking ranks it 718th overall, and 277th in physics. The SCImago ranking lists it in 1176th place. In the NTU Ranking (National Taiwan University Rankings) it is ranked 851st-900th overall and 351st-400th in physics, worldwide. It ranks 286th in The Three University Missions MosIUR, and THE Impact Rankings puts it in the 601st-800th place band. THE WUR ranking puts CU in the 1001st - 1200th place. Summer School BIP 2024

This summer, in collaboration with Western Galilee College, we were thrilled to host an international summer school program that brought together students from nine different universities, representing 15 diverse nationalities. The program focused on Modern Marketing and Information Technology, expertly taught by Professors Lucia Kocisova and Michal Gregus.

Throughout the course, students delved into the latest trends and strategies in marketing and IT, gaining valuable insights and practical knowledge. Beyond the classroom, the program offered enriching cultural experiences, including a guided walking tour of our historic city, a delightful traditional Slovak dinner, and an unforgettable trip to the magnificent Cerveny Kamen Castle.

This summer school was not only an academic venture but also a celebration of cultural exchange and international collaboration, creating lasting memories and fostering global friendships.
