We express our condolences to the victims of a tragic accident
On Sunday evening a tragic accident occurred in Bratislava. A passenger car drove into a group of people who were waiting for public transport at the bus stop on Zochová street in Bratislava's Old Town. The driver killed five people, four of whom were university students.
Today is a day of mourning. Arrogance and irresponsibility was the cause of a tremendous amount of pain. We express our sincere condolences to the relatives, loved ones, friends and classmates of the victims of yesterday's tragic accident on Zochová street Three of them were students of our university - Marek Vojtaššák, who studied at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FPES) and the Faculty of Arts (FARS), Broňa Božoňová, also a student at FPES and at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and Natália Hamráková, who studied at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University.
We wish speedy recovery to those injured in the accident.
The Psychological Counseling Service of Comenius University is available to the bereaved, friends and relatives of the victims.
We will honor the victims of the accident with a minute of silence tomorrow, at 9:00 a. m. A black flag is displayed by the university and books of condolence are available in the vestibule of CU’s building at Šafárik Square. They will remain available for signing until Thursday noon and will then be sent to the families of the victims.
