CU has been carrying out a review of security measures and procedures since December
Comenius University Bratislava has long maintained contacts with experts on security and mental health.
We have been carrying out a review of security measures and procedures since last December - starting with the building at Šafárik square. The findings and related measures will subsequently be implemented at other faculties and parts of Comenius University. Several years ago we installed turnstiles to regulate access to the Rectorate building and the university will also continue implementing similar access control measures in its other buildings.
Prevention is an important part of soft target protection and one of its forms is mental health support provided to the academic community. The aim of this support is to make sure that the people who experience difficult situations in their life know that professional help is nearby. Last year we increased the capacity of our Psychological Counselling Service and intend to continue supporting it. Immediately after the tragedy in Prague, the Psychological Counselling Service of Comenius University launched an online helpline for students and staff of the university which was also available during the holidays. A series of discussions with psychologists will take place during the summer semester in the "Štúrovňa" space at the Ľudovít Štúr Dormitory.
