Hackathon with ÚVO: Students Experienced Public Procurement in Practice
29 April 2025, Comenius University, Faculty of Law
Employees of the Public Procurement Office (ÚVO) are actively involved in teaching undergraduate students at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University, particularly in the subject of Economic Law, which focuses on public procurement.
On 25 April, the Public Procurement Office organised a Student Hackathon, giving students the opportunity to face real-life challenges. Divided into three teams, they worked on two types of assignments:
- setting the conditions of a procurement procedure from the perspective of contracting authority,
- identifying errors in model contracts in the role of an inspector.
Additional assignments included proposing new financial limits for below-threshold contracts and suggesting innovative methods for reviewing the Office’s decisions.
The students demonstrated a solid understanding of public procurement and brought fresh, unbiased insights to the process. The Office considers promoting young professionals’ interest in this field a key priority and plans to organise similar activities in the future.
