Dean of the Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava, Prof. JUDr. Eduard Burda, PhD., was awarded the title of Personality of Bratislava 2024. The award is given annually to individuals who have contributed to the development of the city and society through their activities. This year, eight personalities from various fields received the award. Prof. Burda has long been involved in the field of law and science. He works in the Department of Criminal Law, Criminology, and Criminalistics at the Faculty of Law, Comenius University, where he specialises in substantive criminal law and its interconnection with other legal disciplines. He is the author of several professional publications and monographs, including a scientific commentary on the Criminal Code, published by C. H. Beck. The Personality of Bratislava Award is given on the basis of nominations from the readers of Metropola magazine, which annually selects individuals for their contribution to the city. Among the other honorees were also prominent personalities such as film cameraman Laco Kraus, fashion designer Jana Pištejová or singer Peter Lipa.[1]
