Held this year at Nova School of Business & Economics in Carcavelas near Lisbon, the EUPRIO Conference is one of Europe’s most relevant events for academic communication professionals, gathering around 400 participants from over 130 universities. The 2025 theme, “Driving Innovation: Communication at the Heart of European Universities’ Transformation,” highlighted how communication shapes university missions, public engagement, and collaboration across Europe.

Representatives from Comenius University Bratislava, spokesperson Eva Kopecká and university magazine editor-in-chief Barbora Tancerová,joined international peers in sharing best practices, building networks, and discussing pressing topics in university outreach. The conference featured parallel sessions and keynotes focused on digital strategies, crisis communication, artificial intelligence in education, and strengthening alumni and stakeholder engagement. The results of various EUPRIO Mobility Programmes were presented at the conference, and Barbora Tancerová was part of a team that prepared and presented a toolkit on Internal Communication. By engaging in these dialogues, CU reinforced its role as a dynamic and forward-thinking institution contributing to European academic innovation.

At the EUPRIO Conference in Lisbon, the annual EUPRIO Awards celebrated outstanding university communication campaigns, with 20 universities showcasing innovative projects. The winning campaign was the student-led Red Flag Campaign from the University of Agder (Norway), which tackled sexual harassment by shifting responsibility to potential offenders through inclusive posters, social media, and training, achieving broad awareness and support. Second place went to Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland) for pioneering the first-ever university course delivered on TikTok, engaging new audiences through social media. Third place was awarded to the University of Bergen (Norway) for their AI-powered Study Match app, which helps prospective students choose study programs by analyzing descriptions and matching them to individual preferences. These campaigns exemplify how creativity, technology, and communication empower universities to connect effectively with their communities and drive cultural change.

Through its active role at EUPRIO, CU demonstrated how effective communication is central to its mission: supporting students, researchers, and the broader academic community. By embracing new strategies and technologies, the university advocates for positive change and knowledge sharing within European higher education.

CU’s visible participation in Lisbon confirms its dedication to innovation, international engagement, and the ongoing evolution of university communication.
