ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR HARANGOZÓ FROM THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION RECEIVES AN AWARD FOR HIS SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE VISUAL ARTS

On 29 November 2016 the awards ceremony of the Visual Arts Fund for 2016 took place in the exhibition area of the Pálffy Palace in Bratislava. The Award for Significant Contribution in the Visual Arts went to the academic painter Stanislav Harangozó from the Faculty of Education at Comenius University in Bratislava.

This award is presented by the Board of the Visual Arts Fund for a significant contribution to the visual arts and architecture and was awarded for the first time in 2004. Associate Professor Harangozó is the thirteenth winner of the award.

Associate Professor Stanislav Harangozó was born on 19 November 1946 in Komjatice. From 1967 to 1973 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava under Professors Dezider Milly, Vincent Hložník, and Orest Dubay. He then taught at the academy until 1990. Since 1990 he has taught at Comenius University’s Faculty of Education. He is a member of the Slovak Art Forum and of the Club of Visual Artists and Theoreticians. Harangozó has created a wide portfolio of monumental and decorative artworks in architecture. He exhibits his artwork both domestically and abroad.
